FOUNDER
SENIOR PLACEMENT AGENT
I am a Chicago native who has lived in Colorado for over half of my life, a place I now call home. I attended University of Northern Colorado for my BA in Kinesiology, minor in Biology and also obtaining my certification as an Athletic Trainer. I attended Northern Illinois University for my MS Ed, emphasis in Sport Management. My job experience is diverse, including orthopedics, osteopathy, and most recently over 28+ years in outpatient physical therapy as part of the clinical staff. I acquired my Certified Senior Advisor® (CSA) designation in 2020.
My first experience working with a Certified Senior Advisor® (CSA) was in 2018, when my dad decided it was time to move from my childhood home after 52+ years to an independent living environment. My family and I were connected with a CSA in Chicago through a family friend. Julianne was professional, objective and handled my large family of five siblings with expertise and ease. She was attentive and compassionate to my dad, as well as to my sisters and I. She made a point of “interviewing” both my dad and the family, documenting likes/dislikes, health needs and preferences of location. She set up facility tours, joined us on the tours and assisted us in this huge decision-making process. She was instrumental in our process and to the success of the transition.
I was touched by the care my dad and my family received during this potentially stressful and emotional time. It struck me how every family faced with a voluntary or involuntary transition could benefit from having an objective and empathetic person to assist during their transition. Every family deserves the same level of dignified care that my family received.
I started working with Senior Care Advising in 2020 throughout the Denver, Colorado metro area. I have worked with Older Adults in every aspect of my career, in managing their healthcare and well-being. I have treated, listened to and advised patients over the past 30+ years in the medical field and have a big heart for helping people.
My personal philosophy is that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, treated the way I want my own family treated. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the Older Adult community with their transition needs.
SENIOR PLACEMENT AGENT
I was born and raised at 9,000 feet above sea level near Nederland, Colorado. I earned a B.S. in Human Development and an MFA in Creative Writing at Colorado State University and then coordinated educational programs in birding, watercolor, music, and more for older adults as part of an Elderhostel program.
Later, I worked for many years as a mental health writer and producer. I researched the mental health effects of COVID-19 and developed programs designed to provide relief from loneliness, depression, anxiety, and more using diverse therapeutic protocols.
In 2016, I became a Certified Life Coach and began working with individuals navigating life transitions including grief, job loss, divorce, the empty nest, and more. As part of that work, I founded Art & Soul Creative Retreats to support women in midlife.
I acquired my Certified Senior Advisor® (CSA) designation in 2023 with the intention of joining Christine in her work at Transitions Senior Care. I’ve been inspired by the professionalism and excitement with which she runs her business, truly a labor of love, and I am thrilled to join forces with her.
I’ve been lucky to have my creative and vibrant mom nearby to help me raise my family (pictured above, near my childhood home). I see my work at Transitions as a way to help ensure that our senior loved ones are safe and well cared for in their later years.
Life brings unexpected challenges, and navigating them with grace can be difficult without support. I am honored to be part of that support for those needing help or navigating a move into a senior community.
